In partnership with Impact Hub Birmingham and BOM (Birmingham Open Media), the city's two new creative, collaborative workspaces I have been exploring alternative childcare provision for freelancers and nomadic workers from the arts and the creative industries.
I have received funding from Arts Council England to pilot a fortnightly pop up co-working space with on-site childcare for working parents starting in October 2015 at Impact Hub Birmingham.
The on-site childcare will operate much like a crèche facility, offering free-flow activities for children 0-7 yrs. and include some structured sessions led by experienced artists and early years practitioners. The onsite co-working space at Impact Hub Birmingham has super fast broadband, big spacious tables and plenty of natural light.
This is a pilot programme and its success will depend upon a shared vision of collaboration and curiosity from a supportive network of peers, including early years experts.
If you would like to take part in this pilot programme starting in October 2015 then please fill in the research questionnaire by clicking on the link below.
This research is important and will enable the programme to be shaped to the specific needs of the community.
