In partnership with Impact Hub Birmingham and BOM (Birmingham Open Media), the city's two new creative, collaborative workspaces I have been exploring alternative childcare provision for freelancers and nomadic workers from the arts and the creative industries.

I have received funding from Arts Council England to pilot a pop up co-working space with on-site childcare for working parents at Impact Hub Birmingham.

The on-site childcare will operate much like a crèche facility, offering free-flow activities for children and include some structured sessions led by experienced artists and early years practitioners. The onsite co-working space at Impact Hub Birmingham has super fast broadband, big spacious tables and plenty of natural light.

This is a pilot programme and its success will depend upon a shared vision of collaboration and curiosity from a supportive network of parents, peers and early years experts.

If you would like to take part in this pilot programme please read the information below and book via eventbrite.

This event is a pop up co-working and creche facility at Impact Hub Birmingham for children aged 4 months + and their parent(s)/carers.

Childcare will be provided by qualified childcare professionals and play workers all with enhanced DBS clearance and with experience in the care of children and babies.

We believe it is tremendously important to galvanize a community around this issue and hope that you will come on this journey with us. These 4 sessions will hopefully provide us with some critical discussion and feedback about the type of provision required going forward and who might design it, own it and how it could become financially sustainable.
